CHAIRPERSON’S INVITATION

On behalf of the organising committee and the board – it gives me great pleasure to invite you all to the 2009 Annual Renal
Society of Australasia Conference in Rotorua, New Zealand. The organising committee have worked very hard over the past 18
months on the organisation of the Conference and have secured 3 international speakers and have developed a program that will
stimulate, challenge and leave you wanting more.

The theme ‘Lessons from the past, knowledge for the future’ will I hope, inspire you to all make the trek across ‘the ditch’ (it’s not
that far) and participate in what we hope is a Conference that will inspire you to challenge your practices.

So get those abstracts submitted – and show case your work to your colleagues.

Once again, I very much look forward to welcoming you all to Rotorua for what will be a truly unique New Zealand experience ...
Oh, yes, and make sure that you pack your dancing shoes for the Gala dinner.

See you in 2009,
Cheers Debbie

CONVENORS’ INVITATION

Kia Ora Koutou
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 2009 Renal Society of Australasia Conference in Rotorua New Zealand
The Rotorua Events Centre is situated on the shores of Lake Rotorua at the heart of the city. Rotorua is a small vibrant
city situated amongst a famed geothermal region of spouting geysers, bubbling mud pools and multi coloured geothermal
rivers teeming with trout and many native species of flora and fauna. Rotorua is the heartland of the unique NZ Maori culture
and you will have many opportunities to experience the warm welcome, hospitality and culture of the local Te Arawa Tribe
during the Conference.

Rotorua is an easy drive to many of the unique, interesting and beautiful sites of NZ, such as the Waitomo glow worm caves,
Raglan’s west coast surf beaches or Lake Taupo, the gateway to the central north Island mountain range, where adventurous
activities abound. It also easily links by air to many South Island centres for further exploration of this picturesque country.

Our Conference theme is “Lessons from the Past, Knowledge for the Future” with an invited faculty that will bring together the
best of what we have learned to shape the future of renal care worldwide. Our speakers have a wealth of experience and all are
innovative practitioners.

So we invite you to take this opportunity to challenge your thinking, improve your knowledge and network with colleagues
from around the Asia Pacific region and further a field. Experience all that is uniquely and beautifully New Zealand then
go home inspired and enthusiastic to shape the future of renal care in Australasia.

The RSA 2009 organising committee looks forward to welcoming you to Rotorua in March 2009.
